Michael B. Jordan still refuses to confirm or deny persistent chatter that he'll be playing the Human Torch in Josh Trank's "Fantastic Four" reboot. However, in a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Jordan says that he was up for the role of Harry Osborn in Marc Webb's sequel to "The Amazing Spider-Man," a role that went to his "Chronicle" co-star Dane DeHaan.

He also confirms that he read for the role of Sam "Falcon" Wilson in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier, " a role that went to Anthony Mackie. What that should tell you is that the talented young actor is definitely gunning for a comic book movie role and that he most likely IS Johnny Storm. It would be a racial change for the fiery Fantastic Four member, one that's led to a lot of discussion around these parts. Jordan is aware of the controversy and comments,

"There just aren’t that many," in terms of roles for black actors. He continued, "With superheroes, a lot of those comics were created before the 1960s, so they weren’t going to have a black man save America. So I think it’s more of a continuity thing now. With more generic superheroes, why can’t you have a black, Asian, Hispanic actor play the role? Hopefully, in my lifetime, we’ll see more black superheroes."
